Brochures . . . why so boring?
My background is marketing and I know of no other industry where, en masse, such an opportunity to sell is passed up.
Bottom line, the property brochure is there to do one thing, to sell the viewing. No viewing, no sale.
Yet the majority of agents see it as an inventory, droning on about double panelled radiators, and cornicing to the ceiling. Boring, and probably rooted in tradition,” that’s how we have always done it”.
Brochures (online or print) should be exciting, take a look outside the industry.

I think Darrin Carter put it best on Twitter recently ( http://twitter.com/carteragents/status/9182672098 ):
"if there is a board in your road FS or sold you will call that agent in to value"I.e. great for estate agents, less of a priority for home owners.

It's about public perception. Lets say one agent stopped using boards – the public would not use that agent for obvious reasons.
If all agents in one town stopped using them, then I would imagine it wouldn't be long before either people used agents from out of town, or one agent re-introduces them to differentiate [...]
